The Ramadan Calendar shows Sehri (pre-dawn meal cutoff, tied to Fajr) and Iftar (fast-breaking time, tied to Maghrib) timings for every day of the Hijri month of Ramadan for your city, so you can plan meals and prayers throughout the fasting month without checking a new source each day.
Sehri and Iftar times shift gradually day by day as sunrise and sunset times change through the month, and since Ramadan itself moves about 10-11 days earlier on the Gregorian calendar each year, the season it falls in (and therefore fasting duration, which is longer in summer) changes year to year too.
Because the Hijri calendar is lunar, Ramadan shifts roughly 10-11 days earlier on the Gregorian calendar annually. When Ramadan falls in summer (longer daylight hours), the fasting window from Sehri to Iftar is longer than when it falls in winter.
Traditionally by the sighting of the new crescent moon, though many countries and organizations today rely on astronomical calculation announced by religious authorities. This calendar uses calculated dates; always confirm the locally announced start date with your community's moon-sighting committee.
